How the engine thinks
Foot-traffic curve. Bigger discounts bring more students, but each extra percent buys less than the last. The sweet spot sits around 20% — meaningful uplift without giving away margin.
Item picks. With real order data the engine ranks by actual student purchases; before that it uses price sweet-spots (£4–12), student-favourite categories and signature items.
Bundles. A main plus a companion from another section, priced just under the sum, protects margin better than a blanket discount — students still see a concrete saving.
